Professional Orientation and Discipline System

The P.O.D. system, is a readiness program, developed by poker players for poker players, coupled with extensive research, is designed to help you to develop specific skill sets, disciplines, and the strategic thinking that is critical to proficient play.
Through the P.O.D. system, the only program endorsed by the UPA, you will be playing through five(5) "Degrees" of an accelerated learning and mental conditioning empowerment process related to poker and Texas Hold'em or Hold'em, or as it is now known by many as the "Great Game" (for the obvious reasons). At each tier you will be presented with some concentrated information in a site environment titled "Classroom", a series of exercises and conditioning practice set(s) in another site environment named "My Book", disciplines critical to your development. Upon completion of each tier you will earn a "Degree" and graduate to the next skill set module. Ultimately, you will receive your 5th and final "Degree", at which time you will have earned professional poker player's "certification".
When you enroll, at the beginning of each level you receive a P.O.D. system device, your P.O.D. is a multi-purpose focus tool.

  (1) Used as a "card protector", while at the poker table, once you have decided to play in a hand, and you have waited until it's your turn to act, you should always place your P.O.D. on your cards, covering approx. 1/4 to 1/3 of the mass. This practice has been adopted by most skilled and professional players as a precaution. On a occasions a dealer will mistakenly "muck" your hand, or another player may accidently or otherwise make contact with your cards, in which case your hand can be deemed as "dead" and not allowed to continue in play. Thereby forfeiting any equity you may have in a pot and eliminating any possibility of your winning the pot. Simply put, this tactic will save you a lot of grief, as well as a lot of chips (welcome to the program, you have just been introduced to your first 2 disciplines and a few poker terms).
  (2) Give representation that you are a member of the UPA and a participant in the P.O.D. system.
  (3) Give recognition of your "Degree(s)" in the P.O.D. system, by color code and control number.
  (4) Track documented playing time (credit hours) per tier.
  (5) Track session(s) count per tier.
  (6) Countdown of required credit hours per tier.
  (7) Que you to evaluate for specific data.

  * See minimum requirements chart below

As a part of your growth process, you will be recording hours of organized play, and critical data associated with each play session, in your personalized archive called "My BooK" necessary to meet program requirements. Data mining is one of the significant elements of your development, by entering this information you reinforce pertinent concepts, and build a history of your growth and a data base for self-evaluation purposes. The system, also places a high premium on playing time, with an emphasis on applied science with it, because there is no substitute for experience, Doyle Brunson: professional poker player and WSOP multiple bracelet winner says "the more you play the better you get". Every session of play you should be gaining valuable information and experience. Also you will be applying some of the science of poker and conditioning yourself to do so, and one day soon certain skills will become second nature. We cannot stress enough as to how important it is to play! play! play! which equates to practice! practice! practice!
Generally, we consider organized play as live play in casinos and cardrooms,  private/home games, and internet play, if they are very structured, to maximize on the P.O.D. system processes.
When you accumulate the total required "Credits" per tier, you take a self-assessment test on areas covered at same, pass the test and go to the next "Degree".

Now that you understand the P.O.D system go to  "Registration"
**In "Registration", If you have been playing for one year or more, be sure to check the appropriate box to indicate so, by this the program
puts you on an exempt progression track, reducing the required credits at "Degree 101" and  "102" to One(1) "Practice set" per.

If you qualify, once you receive your P.O.D.
*read in "classroom" the "chalkboard" text
*play one(1) session using "practice set" exercises
*go to "My book" enter and complete "practice set" info.
*enter and complete play session data in "Play history"
Then you are eligible to "take assessment" and move through to "102"and repeat process and move through to "103" where standard credit requirements apply.
